Have you ever been healed in Jesus’ name? I have, multiple times. And Praise Jesus for that!
In the early months of 2024 I was in my car at the gym parking lot on the phone with a Christian friend of mine. It was the afternoon, and I had taken the day off to rest since I had been run down and I had a slight head cold forming. During the phone call I mentioned the head cold and asked him to pray for me. He prayed and as he prayed the head cold dried up and I was healed! This was the second time I had a head cold healed in Jesus’ name through prayer.
I’m reminded of the Roman centurion’s servant whom Jesus healed. Just as in my story, the servant was healed when he was physically distant from Jesus and did not require the laying on of hands or anointing oil.
When [Jesus] had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.
Matthew 8:5-13
My prayer for you:
Lord give us the faith to heal! As it says in your word those who believe in you will do the same works that You did, and even greater works! Give us an overflow of your faith that we might see the miraculous and use it for your glory. In Jesus’ name Amen!
