Did the Lord send me a prophetic dream about the movie “Project Hail Mary”? Light spoilers ahead
I had a long night of dreams sometime in the night of October 19, 2025 going into the following morning of October 20. There was a particular dream that stood out to me as interesting at the time, although I didn’t understand it. Here are the notes I have from that morning. They are from speech to text, so they are a bit rambling:

The following is my poor approximation of what I saw in the dream. I was laying down, almost lounging, in the “spaceship” and there was a massive screen in front of me. The sides of the spaceship were clear so I could see the stars traveling by. Ryan Gosling’s face is projected onto the screen but it’s not from a specific movie.

The following is my rendering of the space map. In one point in the dream, I looked at a map to see where I was traveling. There is a marked path that my spaceship (green) is traveling along. It is clear from the map (and from my understanding within the dream) that I am alone out in the middle of space, and there is no one nearby.

Months later I went saw the movie, not having made any connection to the movie prior. Once I was sitting in the theater the commonalities started to hit me:
- Ryan Gosling is involved in a movie
- Traveling alone in a spaceship
- Spaceship is in the middle of nowhere, no one is nearby
- Crew member dies in an explosion
Below is the space map taken from the trailer. Notice the orbit around earth before traveling into outer space, alone. Also note that the spaceship is traveling along a projected line on the map.

Crew members die in a lab explosion:

Is the dream prophetic? Is it coincidence? Is it all random? There is not 100% overlap between the movie and my dream, but nor does there need to be. My personal belief is that the Lord gave information to me about the movie but in some way also enmeshed it into my life. In the dream, I am “Ryland Grace”, I’m the one in the spaceship. So the dream is about me in some way, it uses my life as a reference point. The main difference is also the one that is most applicable to me: the movie uses a crew of 3, but my family has a “crew” of 4. Two crew members die in a lab explosion in the movie, my Mom had passed a couple years prior.
But why? What is the usefulness of the dream? I think the first is that the Lord speaks to us about future events as a way to confirm that we know He is speaking. I had no knowledge of the movie yet in this dream I was given details about it that were later confirmed when I saw it in theaters (a strange experience). I think He also chose to communicate information to me about my story using symbolic language of the dream that also incorporated themes from the movie,
A minor point, but “grace” (the last name of the main character) is also my word of the year for 2026.
Second minor point: the movie is excellent and I highly recommend seeing it.
